It is only ONE week until our main closing date (with another week until the extended deadline on Friday 29 April). That said, there is still time to enter the GGAs. You will receive second-to-none support throughout the application process and beyond. Here are a few reminders of why it’s good to enter. Our main closing date coincides with Earth Day, the theme of which this year is Invest In Our Planet, so what are you waiting for? Five 'Outstanding' years for GGA!
We are very proud to announce that the GGAs has been accredited with the OUTSTANDING standard Awards Trust Mark for a fifth consecutive year! In 2018, the GGAs was the first awards programme to achieve a gold standard, as it was then, and we have maintained the highest level of accreditation ever since. We are introducing a new feature this year for ALL entrants. After the closing date, some of our sponsors and partners will be hosting Zoom clinics on their specialist fields for everyone who has entered. Learn more HERE >> Do You Know the Carbon Contribution of Your Emails? Emails can weigh surprisingly heavily on our carbon footprint. It is easy to forget that our digital footprint can unwittingly add to our carbon output. Thanks to Jen Gale’s Sustainable-ish newsletter, we are being much more mindful of a seemingly innocent click here or tap there. According to Mike Berners-Lee in How Bad Are Your Bananas: The Carbon Footprint of Everything, an average email contributes 4g of CO2 (and that’s before you add attachments and signatures!). With the average email opening rate being a mere 20.94%, that leaves 79.06% unopened and an alarming amount of pointlessly wasted carbon. So, to share Jen’s advice, unsubscribe to any newsletters and emails from distributions lists you don’t open.
